It seems like so long ago that we were aimlessly strolling through packed car shows and swap meets, elbow to elbow with other classic car connoisseurs, sharing stories and not worrying about social distancing. Then the COVID pandemic came along and changed the way we do just about everything. Car shows, even the outdoor ones, were cancelled, pubs were closed, and shaking the hand of an old friend wasn’t done anymore. Still, as dedicated gearheads, we carried on. We got our classic car fix from television and YouTube, even watching videos of other car buffs searching through the scrapyards in hopes of finding that elusive missing part their old Triumph or MG needed to be complete. Oh, what have we become?
Fortunately, the promise of an effective vaccine and lockdown restrictions being lifted have given us new hope. Our post pandemic world looks promising again and that means outdoor events, yes, even car shows, are back on this summer. If you can’t wait to step foot onto the grassy commons of a local classic car show, our guide to the best UK car shows and motoring events for 2021 is a must read. With that in mind, let’s take a look:
